In this wrap up of Blog posts on the topic of Real Estate SEO and the pursuit of Organic Visibility I share several concepts, one of which is the concept of "Under-Linking." As Real Estate Professionals embrace Internet Marketing and proper Websites they sometimes overdo what they have learned and that causes lots of troubles. I also include a link to a report on the Luxury Market and how the Internet has affected it; finally I offer several ideas on how to think properly about Search Engine Optimization and how your customers are affected by your ranking.

    Hyperlinks, commonly known as Links, are the Verbs of the Internet – they help you conjugate the language of connecting with others. Hyperlinks are truly the core of what makes the Internet works – without them we would have books with long indices – think Encyclopedia Britannica.

    From time to time I hear that some have referred to me as Internet Guru, and I must share that I am not comfortable with that. To refer to someone as a Guru of anything is to say that all knowable information on a particular topic stops with that person – I don’t know that there are any who could fill that description – and I know I do not.

    Google is primarily and advertising agency that happens to offer the most trusted Search Engine in the world. Google earned $2.7 Billion in the last quarter (Jul-Sep 2011) up 26% from the same quarter a year ago (Jul-Sep 2010 = $2.2 Billion) – and during the same period their revenues grew to $9.7 Billion compared to $7.5 Billion the year prior.

    Think about it for just a second… Websites that do not allow for the expression of Agents are just clones of each other. Take a vendor who makes websites for agents in Los Angeles; well the vendor gets the feed from the MLS and clones it on as many websites as agents want to buy from him. In essence all of these websites are the same – in the eyes of Google nothing new is being shared, and that is why they do not rank organically.
