Attitudes about the U.S. housing market have downshifted in the past six months, according to a survey by a national polling data company. Among the findings, more than half of Americans think a recovery will not occur until after 2014.

John Ashley Mabus, 44, of Batesburg, pleaded guilty in federal court in Columbia to a Negligent Violation of the Clean Water Act. U.S. Magistrate Judge Joseph R. McCrorey accepted the plea and will impose a sentence at a later date.

 
 

BB&T Real Estate Funding's parent company, BB&T Corp., has increased its portfolio capacity from $400 million to $800 million.

CertusBank will establish its corporate headquarters and Anthropologie will open a retail store in the new $100 million development planned at the site of the demolished Woolworth building at Main and Washington streets in downtown Greenville.

Palmetto Health Foundation’s McDaniels Golf Classic will be held June 17 at Fort Jackson Golf Club. A VIP reception and auction will be held June 16 at The Zone at Williams-Brice Stadium. Proceeds from both events will benefit Palmetto Health Cancer Centers.


 
 

Joan Woodard, former executive vice president of the Department of Energy’s Sandia National Laboratories, will chair the Savannah River National Laboratory External Advisory Board.

The Beach Company is looking to hire an assistant manager in Columbia. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. College education is preferred. Applicant must have a current SC Property Manager's license or obtain it within 90 days of start date and should hold or be working to attain the professional designation of Certified Apartment Manager or Accredited Property Manager.
