The state Department of Insurance will hold a public hearing on March 29 regarding the sale of Liberty Life Insurance Co. of Greenville to Athene Holding Ltd., a Bermuda-based company. The university said the addition is meant to help meet a growing demand for educators and professionals with the highest level of Spanish proficiency. The program will prepare students to teach and perform research, as well as to serve as consultants and translators in the private and public sector. |

The city is accepting applications for one full-time judge and two substitute judges for the Columbia Municipal Court. Tony May will manage 24/7 customer service, including technical support, and the company’s global support team based in the center. The global support team serves U.S.-based customers traveling abroad in more than 220 countries. Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin is beginning a new initiative in which citizens can schedule a five-minute meeting at City Hall to discuss issues, raise concerns and present ideas to Benjamin. |
The organization, a public-private partnership charged with developing and growing the Columbia region’s knowledge economy, will present one of its periodic Science Cafe events on the topic Power Struggle: How We Harness Energy Now and in the Future. Each Monday, the Business Report publishes the calendar of who is entertaining our legislators. The University of South Carolina is hiring a data coordinator for its Development and Alumni Affairs, Advancement Services department. The coordinator will be responsible for data collection, data entry and logging of all gifts received by the university.
