Pike Electric Corp. was given a $275 million contract for engineering, procurement and construction of 250 miles of 230-kilovolt transmission lines associated with the expansion of the V.C. Summer Nuclear Station in South Carolina.

Ten people have been indicted by a federal grand jury in Columbia on charges of business-related crimes. Eight of those charged were involved in a credit card fraud ring, said U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles.

South Carolina is among the top 10 states for LEED-certified green buildings, according to a list released Wednesday by the U.S. Green Building Council. No other Southeastern state made the cut.

Ongoing post-enrollment surveys by Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Co. show that 97% of employees who take part in benefits counseling sessions say they understand their benefits better.

The Carolinas Nuclear Cluster will have a supplier information session at Tri-County Technical College’s Industrial Business and Development Center. The session is open to S.C.-based companies.

The Columbia-based real estate developer is buying the historic Pepper Building in Winston-Salem, N.C., and plans to renovate it, according to a company official.

The University of South Carolina is hiring a data coordinator for its Development and Alumni Affairs, Advancement Services department. The coordinator will be responsible for data collection, data entry and logging of all gifts received by the university. A bachelor’s degree and three years’ experience, or a high school diploma and seven years’ experience in a data processing environment are required. Learn more or apply here.
